Just a reminder tomorrows board swap is on rain, hail or shine!! 12 – 3 pm Sunday the 10th of April at Cutloose – 4 Piping Lane, Lonsdale.
PS THIS IS A TOTALLY FREE EVENT – just rock up and talk surf with a whole lot of other board lovers…
We’ll move the whole shebang inside the factory to keep everything sweet.
The barby will be cranking full blast and it sounds like quite a few absolute gems will be turning up for some swap action. McDonaghs, Keyo’s, Burfords, Lip Sitx, Morning Star’s, Sea Horses, MP’s, Morning of the Earths, Bennetts, Wallace’s and a few others are what we have heard may be here for trading, so go through your sheds and see what sleds ( great ryhme hey??) you have to trade.
We’ll also wipe all the drool off the 1967 Bobby Brown 10’0 limited edition replica that’s just come in. The guys that have checked it out are liking it severely to say the least!! There are only 5 in Oz so check it out!!
So see you tomorrow and let all your surfing mates know who aren’t online, facebook or seen the posters over the last few weeks.
Just giving you a reminder that we’ll be doing something as aussie as tomorrow……burning snags, hanging at the beach on patrol, wearing heaps of white zinc on our scones, getting tatts of the southern cross, riding quality australian surfboards…..you name it and were into it.
Because we love it so much, the shop will be closed on Australia Day, as a sign of respect for the greatest country in the known universe.
Don’t worry though, when we re open Thursday, there will be whole racks of fresh fully Australian made surfboards, designed by amazing Australian shapers.
See you soon for your own beautiful slice of Australia
Just giving you the heads up if your one of the fine ladies out there with an interest in riding waves to personal glory – what ever that looks like!!
On Friday February the 11th, between 6 – 7.30pm we are having a girls night in at Cutloose- sorry no blokes allowed
There will be a very good looking, single and highly skilled surfboard shaper on hand to show you how a surfboard is made from start to finish, along with heaps of other things important for all girls to understand to get the most out of their surfing.
Surfer Girls and Surfing SA will both be on hand to let you know about all the fantastic social and competitive surfing goings on in SA, along with surf schools to help you have more fun in a safe and friendly environment.
There’ll also be heaps of great door prizes and some of the schools are donating some lessons to get some lucky ladies up and riding waves in no time at all.
All the new Oxbow and BIC SUP’s have arrived and they look sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!
The people that have already demo’d the Scout’s are peaking over how well they go as a single board for flat water and wave riding…the shape, construction, look, feel and price really have to be seen to be believed. You would have to be crazy to at least not see them in the flesh if you are thinking of getting a new SUP.
The Scout comes in 9’4 green rails, 10’4 blue rails and 10’8 red rails.
Anyway, Saturday the 12th of February, the team are coming over for a couple of demo sessions on all the boards. At this stage there will be both flat water and wave riding demo’s available, but depending on conditions of course.
We will keep updates happening on the blog and Facebook, but chuck a reminder in your iphone or whatever way you stay track of time…or dont’
cheers
Cutloose
PS if you can’t wait till then, all the boards are in store for demo as we speak, so give us a buzz and we’ll put one aside for you to go and try how good these boards are for yourself.
No doubt if you are passionate about your surfing and live in SA, you would have heard the rumour mill winding up to full speed.
As a result of recent, wild and highly amusing rumours, we though we should outline what is really going on in regards to the future of SA’s largest and most influential surfboard label.
The TRUTH
Cutloose is locked into a very, very bright future, continuing to service surfers from all over SA and the world, with the highest quality boards, wetsuits and surfing accessories.
Cutloose is 100% owned by local SA surfers.
Cutloose is 90% of the way through another exciting renovation to create the one of the largest dedicated surf hardware stores in Australia, with over 300 boards in stock in our spacious, comfortable showroom – factory outlet.
Cutloose has one of the most experienced shapers and glassers in the world, onsite almost everyday to provide the most experienced custom service available in SA.
Cutloose still manufacturers custom surfboards in SA.
Cutloose has the finest ding repair service available in SA to meet all your board repair requirements.
Cutloose has the only instore shaping bay in SA, that has been blessed by the hands of arguably the worlds hottest, number 1 shaper/ designer, Matt ” Mayhem” Biolos.
Cutloose does NOT import boards under their own label from cheap Asian countries and then peel off the “made in some asian country” sticker, so you DON”T get what you think your paying for.
Cutloose continues to use the most premium materials available in the construction of all it’s boards so that you know you are getting what you pay for.
Cutloose has partnered up with the No. 1 surfboard making factory in the world, that happens to be based in Australia. This is for several reasons:
Because the quality of surfboards produced in the D’Arcy factory is second to none in the world.
The D’Arcy factory is the most modern, number 1 environmentally and worker friendly surfboard making factory on the planet.
The D’Arcy factory controls 100% of the process, so no weird and wonderful contractors get their hands on your boards. This means we can guarantee the quality and that the finest materials have been used in your new board.
We get access to world champions to test our designs. No offence, to other local manufacturers, but you can only refine and develop your designs as good as the volume and quality of feedback your shaper receives. Although the D’Arcy factory is based in Currumbin on the Gold Coast, our designers frequently come to SA to tweak the designs for optimum local performance.
Because D’Arcy is located within 1km of all the key suppliers of premium surfboard making materials in Australia, getting boards made there has a massive impact on the amount of carbon kilometres your board makes. Eg 1 trip to Adelaide instead of 5 saves 7000 kilometres per board. Not only is that bad for the environment, but someone has to foot the bill dollars wise as well.
Because we have such a huge board store under the roof of our factory, this has presented a major insurance issue in regards to laminating on site. We were looking at an approximate increase of over 100% on our premiums. Who cares you say??? Well to put it into perspective, boards would need to go from $750 to around $1000 – $1100 per board to break even. The reality is, no one is going to pay that much for a new board. Hence a major part of our reason to keep Cutloose the highest quality 100% Australian made boards available, by restructuring our factory processes.
What does this mean for you??
You get access to the finest range of surfboard designs to ever come under a South Australian surfboard label.
You get a premium product for your money.
You get exception value for money.
You know your money stays in Australia.
You know that Cutloose will continue to provide more support for surfers and surfing events at all levels than any other label over the past 27 years in SA. This has a huge positive impact on local surf culture and your surfing experience.
You have 7 day a week access to one of Australia’s largest and few last remaining one stop surf hardware stores.
You have access to people who are fanatical about surfing to talk to about making your next surfing dreams come true.
You can come in when ever you want and talk with one of the worlds most experienced shapers and glassers for all your custom requirements.
Cutloose is committed to surfing and to South Australian surfers . We hope this helps dispel some of the rumours getting around the carparks at the moment.
Which ever board store you support in the future is totally your choice, however knowing what your getting and making an informed decision will play a major role in shaping the future of surfing in SA.
Check it out – exclusive to Cutloose!!! Yeeeeeeeeeeew!!
Come on down and check out this south aussie home grown hero’s new pro model. Its fully sick as.
To celebrate, we have got a mad promo on his board for the next few week, so if you need a new sled for charging over the summer, come into Cutloose and check it out yo – you’ll have your beard on for sure!!
We might even see if he’s recovered from Friday night enough to go for a jamboree at ye olde Knights on Sunday morning amongst the fury of promoting the new Colour DVd.
Get ready boogers for the biggest booger party of the year- yeeeew!!
Be there or be like square or rectangle or something…….

Just letting you know we are post poning the board swap that was scheduled for this weekend.
Noit only is the weather looking feral, but we have had some pretty unreal news that a couple of super special international guests might be able to make it later in October with some ground breaking new designs.
At this stage it looks like the 24th of October, but once we get confirmation, we’ll post it straight away.
Sorry for any inconvenience as we know heaps of people are frothing and really looking forward to showing off their pride and joys and maybe making the trade of a lifetime….or picking up a sweet ride at the very least.
