Longbottom fishing alert!!!!

Hi tigers, 

for anyone on the prowl…..a fresh box of double flyer fish have just swum in the factory. 

These things are in and out so fast it’s ridiculous, so if you’ve been in and missed them, then get on in quick as they’ll be gone in no time…. 

Another sweet Dylan double flyer fish just out of the oven - the sweetest fish on the menu!!

whether it’s on the mid, down south or at yorkes, everyone who has added one these boards to their quiver is loving them, for some super high performance, fun in everyday waves

Hi there surfcraft lovers…… 

what a day of MAyhem at the Cutloose factory on Sunday!!!! 

Frothers getting all foaming with Mayhem in the shaping bay!!

Mayhem cut loose in the shaping bay, with almost 300 frothers estimated to have dropped by to take in some fresh foam dust as he let loose on some un suspecting blanks, to punch out some sweet boards for some lucky punters…. 

all this, even with a fresh stingray barb hole in his foot & on the back of 1732 hours of plane transfers…..what a champion!!!! 

All the grommets were peaking to get to talk with Matt in the shaping bay and pick his brains on what would be the best board dimensions, rockers, outlines so they can really blow up at triggs, just like c -low!!!!  (Kyle and Mitch, we did find a weird pile of excitement in the corner of the shaping bay…..any hints ????? ) 

MAtt also brought in some demo boards including a blunt, sub scorcher, scorcher, motivator, round nose fish and the mighty rocket……once we wipe all the drool off them, they’ll be ready for test riding, so if you’ve been hanging out to see these sticks in the flesh, then drop on in and have a feel.

the phone is going out of control with frothers who can’t wait to find out what is going on, on Sunday…

well ok…here’s the scoop, this litterly is the biggest surfboard news to ever hit australia, and especially SA.

Cutloose has teed up for the world’s number 1 shaper, Mayhem to shape all of his most famous and newest designs right in  the middle of the shop with a big glass wall shaping bay, so you can see right in. ..we’ll also have a mic in the bay so he can talk to you, while he shapes, along with telling crazy stories from around the globe….

This Sunday 3pm – 6pm ish, Cutloose Surf Factory, 4 Piping Lane Lonsdale

Live shaping, heaps of free promo gear, lots of snags, outdoor surf movies and a background of sweet beats to get you in the mood!!!

Here’s what one of the best surf writers in the world has to say about Mayhem.

The greatest shaper the world has ever had!

He is six-foot one and tons of fun. A sweet, thickish odour announces his presence. He is Matt Biolos, the shaper with the cute Mayhem sticker. He shapes for child prodigies Kolohe Andino and Ian Gentil and for battle-weary pro’s Chris Ward, Cory Lopez and Chris Davidson.

His surfboards are marked by their ability to work under the feet of pro’s and the man on the street, you and me, the proud weekend soldier. My favourite is the Scorcher, the board favoured by Brother Andino.

Explains Matt: “The Scorcher has a really curvy rail rocker, relatively straight centerline rocker and an outline that’s straight through the middle giving a wider than average nose and wide hips. The actual tail width at 12″ is pretty much the same as any high-performance shortboard, but with a much wider tail block. It has a vee deck to full-ballish rails.” I don’t even know what they are and I love them! Balls!

Matt continues: “All this combines for a board that is drivey when flat on the water, but turns a tight enough radius when up on a rail. The vee in the last few inches of the tail is created by the accentuated rail rocker hyper extending out the tail. Anyways, Kolohes won every event under the sun on the thing, Gorkin has literally won four of the last five east coast pro events on one… the only one he didn’t win, he got second in a disputed call to Timmy Curran’s little brother (what’s his name?).”

Get ready surfboard loving freaks!!

Hi folks..

Sunday is looking unreal – should be pumping in the morning and then what a way to end the day by calling into Cutloose post surf mission….

Boxes have left a far away destination and people are getting on planes to get here in time….this will be epic, so put a reminder in your phone and get onto your mates!!

It looks like we will have to extend the event to 3ish through around 7-8 at night to cope with the expected number of frothers…

Get ready for the MAyhem!!

All I can say is this will probably be the biggest thing to ever happen in SA surfing history, apart from Layne Beachley surfing in a comp at Waits for the Cutloose team early this year ( do I really have to remind you how much she blew up in the smallest conditions in the last 87 years??????)

Anyway, stay tuned everyday this week and make sure you leave next Sunday arvo around 3 – 5.30 free – yes get up and go surfing all day and then time it to get back to Lonsdale by then…..and be prepared to walk as you may have to park way down the road, but if you love surfing, it will be more than worth it……

What the heck, i hear you ask………just stay tuned as this is the real (big big ) deal

ps…. tell ALL your mates, as if this doesn’t get you frothing, you may need to check you still have a pulse..

Fresh new bombs ready to explode!!

Hi there all you frustrated surfers out there…. as you know it’s been a bit of a struggle the last few months with the surf not getting to much over 2 foot. 

Luckily for those in the know, who were happy to give something a bit different a go, they have been blowing up all over the place in less than ordinary waves, thanks to their new D’Arcy Bombs. 

These little puppies go bunta in 1/2 to 3 ft surf. With a sick outline, performance rocker and plenty of volume you should definately check them out. Ride them about 4-6 ” shorter, 1/4 -1/2″ thicker & 1-1 1/2 wider for maximum explosiveness!!! 

Fresh little explosives!! Just lobbed.

 We had a fresh batch of 5 rock up this week from 5’8 through to 6’2……yeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaa 

D’Arcy is a bloody genius and you wont be let down, if your happy to Cutloose from the pack mentality, that is.

Get your toes on the nose!!

Hey there all you loggers and SUP’ers… Just letting you know that Mags is doing the hard yards and has gone up to the Noosa Surf Festival to make sure you don’t miss out on any of the action when you come into the shop.

Drop in for the full wrap as he was forced to surf overhead Tea Trees with only 8 people out…what a bummer.

No doubt he would have also been forced to test ride at least 50 SUP’s and just as many longboards….

He may have even stumbled across the legendry Dick Brewer, who by the way, we have a couple of his fresh boards in the longboard room……these puppies are the full deal with monster laps, deck patches, tints and razor sharp pinlines….sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!

So anyway, drop in to get the low down, you’ll probably have booked a surf trip by the time you leave the shop, he’ll have you THAT excited.
