G&S Australia have just released a limited range of 10 Bobby Brown stringless models. Replicated off the last-ever surfboard he rode and shaped until his untimely death in August 1967, this board still stands in time as one of the last great longboard models before the short-board revolution, and a true testament to Bobby’s craftsmans…hip and design innovation.
Cutloose is stoked to get its hands on the number 3 of 10 board that is shaped and signed by Bobby’s close friend and mentor Floyd Smith who helped Bobby create this model in 1967. These boards are exact replicas and feature full volan glass and glassed on fin with the signature spoon concave. This historic board will be on display at the Cutloose Board Swap this Sunday the 10th April. Get down to the board swap to witness this piece of Australian surfing history!

Jake Stone and Chris White have teamed up for the sequel of their bodyboarding movie ‘Grow Up’. This dose of epic waves and juvenile behaviour is titled ‘Blow up’. Enjoy.
“I simply didn’t see Dion there, I should have looked harder but the wave was a good one and I was too focused on getting the wave and didn’t realize he was there – it was that simple – I should have looked a lot harder” said Whitaker after the final.
Despite the interference, it was a worthy maiden ASP win for 24 year-old Atkinson who prior to today’s final had placed 2nd in three ASP World Tour events.
“So happy to finally win an event” said Atkinson whose year is off to a flying start following a second placing in Brazil last month.
“I couldn’t believe the early interference, it was a major error by Tom and after he interfered I realized I was in a great position to win but I had to focus, calm myself down and do the job and win the final – it was nerve wracking for a while!”
Final scores in the final for each top two scoring rides saw Atkinson on 12.03 to Whitaker on 6.97 noting that Whitaker’s second scoring ride was penalized 50% and his opening ride was not scored.
Atkinson’s two scoring final rides of 6.20 and 5.83 reflected his professional workman like approach to winning the event knowing that two good scores would do in the circumstances.
Most of the field at this event now head to New Zealand for the O’Neill Cold Water Classic which begins on Wednesday at Gisborne on the east coast of New Zealand’s north island.

The ASMF went off with a bang in Adelaide on Friday and Saturday night! The films were of insane quality and Tim Bonython once again produced the goods! What was the highlight you ask? Let me answer your question with another question….. Do you ever get sick of watching guys freefalling down steps at 15ft Shipsterns? Yep, me either.
If you live on the Mid Coast, chances are you haven’t been pitted for a long long time! If you forgot the feeling of being pitted, let this guy refresh your memory!
The SUP State Titles went off with a bang on Saturday! The comp was held in really contestable conditions at Waitpinga with a 2ft swell and light winds all day. The conditions painted the backdrop for an epic day with high performance SUPing on display for the crowd to see.
Just scraping his way through heats all day, Mark Temple took out the Over 40′s and the Open Men’s titles by overcoming fierce competition from Andy Hancock. However, the suprise pack of the day was young Ben Jones who came in close second, only to admit later that he only had been surfing on a SUP several times! Liz G was the clear standout in the Womens division taking the crown for 2011.
Cutloose would like to thank Surfing SA for putting on another great show, all the competitors, spectators and Jay from Oxbow for making the journey down here to get amongst it!
Cheers,
Cutloose Team
