Shapers - Rex Marechal

Growing up in California, Rex was destined for a life as a surfer. After standing up on his first wave at the age of 11, his passion for it has now grown into a full blown obsession. After 3 decades as a surfer / shaper he has never been keener or more focused.

Travelling the globe to 6 continents and doing lenghty stays in 4 of the worlds surfing epi centres, Rex has shaped in excess of 15,000 surfboards, mostly  handshapes.

Along the way, Rex has shaped for the Irons brothers, Dingo, Mick Lowe, Koby Abberton, Chelsea Georgeson & Lisa Anderson to name a few.

Having surfed so many amazing and so many average waves around the world has given Rex the ability to use his intuition to consistently deliver great handshaped boards for surfers of all levels.

Rex shapes from the Central Coast of NSW, but continues to take up any opportunity to travel and chase great waves and continue the evolution of his shaping.
